Project Updates
Mardalup ParkMardalup Park was formerly the home of the Perth Gas Works. Following the commencement of the East Perth Redevelopment project in 1992, extensive environmental remediation work was undertaken to make the site suitable for use as public open space. This included the installation of a steel sheet pile wall on the southern edge of the park providing a barrier between the land and the Claisebrook Cove inlet.
Regular maintenance is undertaken to ensure the upkeep of infrastructure in Claisebrook Cove. Works to reinforce the existing sheet piling in front of the timber boardwalk will be undertaken between mid September and late November 2008. This reinforcement will support the existing timber boardwalk, act as a structural edge to the foreshore and as a barrier between the Mardalup Park site and Claisebrook Cove.
