Arts Venue for the Creative Quarter Precinct

The Creative Quarter is set for a boost with the construction of a new, state-of-the-art performing arts venue, to be completed by the end of 2008.

The state of the art performing arts venue will be located on the corner of William and Roe Streets, Northbridge.

In this pivotal location, the new performing arts facility has an opportunity to support surrounding day and night vitality, adding a new activity to the mix and weaving the operations of the new facility into the street life of the area.

The design on the venue was selected by the CentreStage international design competition that was launched by the Minister for Culture and the Arts Sheila McHale in June 2005.

An impressive design by Kerry Hill Architects, which beat a field of 40 designs submitted by architects from around the world, was announced as the winner in November 2005.
