Creative Quarter Overview

The Creative Quarter contains some of Western Australia’s key cultural institutions and a large concentration of State-owned heritage buildings, including all of the William Street properties from Roe to Francis Streets.

Unfortunately, over time, the area has developed a reputation for being uninviting, harsh and at night time an unsafe environment.

These factors adversely affect the attractiveness and use of the Quarter, limiting the Western Australian public’s attendance at the cultural institutions within the precinct.

To overcome this, the State Government has extended EPRA’s boundaries to include the Creative Quarter in order to facilitate the integrated planning and redevelopment of this culturally important area.

The new area includes Crown Reserve land bounded by Aberdeen Street in the north, William Street in the west, Roe Street in the south and Beaufort Street in the east and occupied by the Creative Quarter and the Central College of TAFE.

The extension allows for a consistent planning approach, connecting EPRA's New Northbridge and The Link projects with the Quarter.
