Location

The project area is bounded by Aberdeen Street in the north, William Street in the west, Roe Street in the south and Beaufort Street in the east and occupied by the Perth Cultural Centre and the Central College of TAFE.

Integration between the Cultural Centre and the surrounding streets is currently limited, with the Cultural Centre activities being inwardly focused onto a central paved space that is largely a pedestrian thoroughfare and disconnected from the surrounding streets.

A better connection between the Cultural Centre and the social environment of Northbridge, the City Station Complex and the City’s retail core will assist in attracting many more visitors to the Cultural Centre.

A safe attractive and thriving Cultural Centre will also serve to attract people into the area and improve the income-earning potential of neighbouring businesses. An increase in people attending the cultural events in the Centre will impact positively on the earning potential of the cultural agencies themselves.
